About the course
As Australia's leading authority on safe sleep, we’re excited to offer your team our exclusive Safe Sleep eLearning. A self-paced, online course that allows individuals to learn at their convenience from any location, at any time. Perfect for those who need flexible training options.
This training provides essential education to ensure the safety of babies and toddlers (up to 2 years old) during rest and sleep in your care. You'll gain an understanding of our 6 Safe Sleep Recommendations and practical guidance on how to implement them in your setting or service. Additionally, the course covers key topics including safe settling practices, creating safe sleep environments, compliance with the National Quality Framework, monitoring and supervision, conducting individual risk assessments, and emergency response procedures.
Pricing: $98.50 per person - Please enter the number of staff needing the training in the quantity box and add to cart. Our courses are priced to reflect the quality and value of the education provided to each individual. We do not offer discounts for bulk enrolments.
Course duration: The course will take approximately 2 hours and learners will have 30 days to complete the training.
Certification: Upon completion of the course, learners will be issued a certificate of completion which is valid for 12 months. The training should be repeated every year.
Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the course, you will be able to:
- Describe SIDS and SUDI and identify the factors that increase an infant’s risk.
- Understand the importance of each of Red Nose’s 6 Safe Sleep Recommendations and confidently implement them within your setting or service.
- Develop your communication skills and confidence in discussing safe sleep practices with parents and carers.
- Understand and apply the necessary steps to effectively respond to emergencies during sleep and rest, including developing an incident response plan.
- Effectively utilise Red Nose’s extensive range of free education and support resources.

Course Access
If paying by card, you'll receive an email within 1 business day with a registration token and instructions for your staff to register their eLearning account. For bank deposits, your registration token and instructions will be sent upon receipt of payment proof.
Your registration token is valid to be used for 12 months or until all allocations are exhausted, whichever comes first. The exact expiry date will be included with the token. Make sure to use up all your tokens prior to the expiry date as we do not grant any extensions.
30-day Access Period
Once a learner activates their eLearning account with their registration token, they have 30 days to finish the course before their account is automatically deactivated. We don’t offer extensions beyond this 30-day period. By registering, learners agree to complete the course within this time. If the course isn’t finished in 30 days, a new purchase is required to regain access.
Digital Literacy Requirements
Please note that a basic level of digital literacy is required to complete this course. Learners must be comfortable navigating online platforms, following on-screen instructions, and troubleshooting minor technical issues. While our team is happy to provide general eLearning support, we are unable to provide in-depth, ongoing technical support for individual learners – this is the responsibility of the organisation or employer of the individual.
